History of Our Centre

The Sudbury Counselling Centre has provided individual, couple and family counselling since
its beginning in 1971. Over the years it has expanded to offer a broad range of services to respond
to the needs of the community we serve.
An incorporated charity, Sudbury Counselling Centre formerly “Sudbury Family Service” was created in 1971 to
address the counselling needs of the community. We have been in continuous operation in Sudbury for
over 40 years.
Every year, our community programs help over 1700 individuals and families in need. We believe that by
helping to strengthen families and individuals, we help build a healthier community for everyone.
In 1982, the Centre began offering counselling services to organizations in an effort to address the special
needs of employees and the workplace. Sudbury Counselling Centre helped develop one of the first Employee
Assistance Programs (EAP) in Sudbury. Since then, we have been very successful in attracting a large and
impressive group of clients to our portfolio. We are currently providing a variety of innovative programs and
services to 32 employers in the Sudbury area.
Our vision…
